Samsung’s first public beta for One UI 7 based on Android 15 was initially rumored to go live this week for the Galaxy S24 family. That hasn’t happened yet, and according to a new rumor, it won’t happen. Instead, it’s reportedly been moved to the third week of August.

The reason for the delay apparently has to do with the One UI 6.1. 1 update, which is still making its way to older foldables, tablets, and some high-end devices. So Samsung seems to want to focus on one update at a time.

One UI 7 will be a fairly significant update, featuring a redesigned skin of Samsung’s stock Android. According to recent leaks, it will see a revamped Quick Settings panel separated from notifications, more rounded corners across the UI, new icons for Samsung apps, a new lock screen design with battery charge status and thicker shortcuts, a search bar at the bottom of the app drawer, and a new camera app that should be easier to use one-handed thanks to the placement of settings and modes.

There are also rumors of new, smoother animations, but we won’t believe that until we see it.
