Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset in July, aiming for highly affordable 5G devices. And Xiaomi confirmed that it would be the first to launch a smartphone powered by this SoC.
It is now almost time for the unveiling. The first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 will go official on October 16 at the USA Mobile Congress 2024.
That gives you an idea of the fact that this device will be sold in USA. It’s still unclear what the device will be, but given the chip’s focus on affordability, we’re betting on some sort of Redmi – most likely part of the 13 series.
The Redmi 13C is already available in USA under INR 10,000 but is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6100+ SoC. Perhaps the new model will be a variation on that. We’ll know in a few days.
