The freshly announced Samsung Galaxy A16 5G has landed at our headquarters for review, but before we put it to the test, let’s quickly unpack the box and see what’s on offer.
The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G comes in a white colored box, which includes some paperwork, a SIM eject tool and a charging cable. We have the blue model, but there are three more colors to choose from.
On the front we have a 6.7″ FullHD+ 90Hz AMOLED display with a notch for the 13 MP selfie camera. However, there is no fingerprint scanner underneath as it is embedded in the power button.
Flip the phone over and you’ll see a plastic back with a triple camera setup, aligned vertically on the left corner. It is a combination of a 50 MP primary, 5 MP ultra-wide and 2 MP macro camera.
Under the hood is the Exynos 1330 SoC with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G runs Android 14-based One UI 6.1 out-of-the-box and comes with the promise of six years of Android version upgrades and six years of security updates, which is one of the biggest highlights of the smartphone.
The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G comes with an IP54 rating and to keep the whole package running there is a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging support. But if you don’t have a compatible power adapter, you’ll have to spend extra money as the smartphone comes with not one is included.
