Apple announced it iPad mini (2024) on Tuesday with a simple press release and we now have more details on the specs thanks to a Geekbench listing.

The device appeared as the iPad 16.2 and achieved 2,817 single-core and 6,982 multi-core scores, which is in line with the iPhone 15Pro And iPhone 15 Pro Max – the only other devices equipped with the Apple A17 Pro chipset. Note that the new iPad has a throwaway version of the A17 Pro one less GPU core than the SoC on the iPhone 15 Pro models.
More importantly, we have confirmation that the 7th generation iPad mini will be equipped with 8GB of RAM, which appears to be a system requirement to use Apple Intelligence when it becomes available with iPadOS 18.1.
Apple iPad mini (2024) costs $499/€599/£499 for the 128GB WiFi-only model and $649/€769/£649 for the cellular connectivity version. Pre-orders are already open, while shipping is expected to begin on October 23rd.
