This was evident from a press release that circulated yesterday yet again that there is nothing the mainstream media loves more than a crazy lunatic claiming to have created Bitcoin.

In honor of White Paper Day, the latest event, billed as the unveiling of Satoshi Nakamoto’s “legal identity,” attracted a who’s who of the press, including the BBC, embroiled in the Craig Wright scandal in 2016. (Wright was later considered legal not to be Satoshi.)

Even that fire didn’t stop their reporters from interviewing the latest man to claim – without evidence – that he created Bitcoin.

This time our fake Satoshi is Stephan Mollah.

No, it’s not the first time Mollah has pulled this stunt. He crypto exchange Coinbase sued all the way back in 2021, claiming they stole his company name from him, while at the time they said Satoshi Nakamoto was his pseudonym and true identity.

Long story short, the claim was so bizarre that it’s even mentioned an online research agency that Mollah uses as a way to advertise the effectiveness of their software.

Just look at this image.

You can follow the thread of the BBC reporting for the highlights, that’s what they are full of his meaningless statementsas well as complaints from the reporters about what they had to experience, including the “becoming easier to fake screenshots‘ that he showed.

“I created Bitcoin technology, but I’m not happy with it,” Mollah said. “I have proof of that, but I’m here to make the statement.”

Mollah promised to reveal the true details at a later date and finally show the event for what it was: an announcement of a false announcement.

The audience was captivated.

Still, after all the fuss about HBO’s documentary, which went to… extraordinary efforts to fake a convincing Satoshi reveal Earlier this month I have to say that Mollah is somehow refreshing.

This is really the way all Satoshi Nakamoto reveals should be: total sideshows, devoid of any reasonable plot. Hopefully, if we get enough of it, we can convince the media to end their fruitless search for Satoshi’s true identity.

After all, as Bitcoin Mechanic saysIsn’t that all he ever asked of us?
