Apple has launched a new service program especially for this purpose iPhone 14 Plus units sold between April 10, 2023 and April 28, 2024. This reportedly affects “a very small percentage” of devices, which is good to hear. The problem is quite obvious: the phone does not show a preview of the rear camera.
As a reminder, only iPhone 14 Plus devices are reportedly affected, not the iPhone 14, 14 Pro, or 14 Pro Max. You can check if your phone is within the affected range by visiting this Apple page and enter your phone’s serial number.
This specific program covers iPhones for three years after the original purchase date. Within this period, Apple will fix the problem free of charge, as long as there is no other form of damage to your phone. If you already had the problem and fixed it, you can request a refund. However, we assume that an Apple Authorized Service Provider must have performed the maintenance.
If your phone meets the criteria, Apple “verifies” that it is eligible for service. From there, you have a number of options, including finding an Apple Authorized Service Provider, making an appointment at an Apple Store, or contacting Apple Support to arrange a mail-in service.
