Realme GT 7 Pro goes global on November 26And we have already established it that it has industry-leading battery life. However, not everyone will benefit from the 6,500mAh cell that goes from 0 to 50% in 13 minutes – Realme is launching the phone in USA with less capacity.
The Amazon listing revealed that GT 7 Pro will have a capacity of 5,800 mAh, about 10% less than the original.
We spoke to Realme USA representatives, who confirmed that the smaller capacity is real, and not some fluke from Amazon. When asked about the decision, they simply said it was due to ‘regulations’, but could not state exactly what rules they were following.
The lack of a coherent answer means we don’t have an answer to the bigger question: did Realme simply replace the Si/C dual cell of the GT7 Pro to play the numbers game, or has it produced a cheaper 5,800 mAh Li-Ion cell to keep the price down?
The answer will remain a mystery for a few more days until we see an Indian unit being torn down, revealing the battery inside.
