The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD falls the Goodwood Festival of Speed this week, but ford has news for us as the super Mustang climbs the hill.
First of all the Mustang GTD participating in the Festival of Speed shows off a new coat of paint colour Called “Indulgent Blue,” it’s just one of several “Extended Color Palette” choices that Ford is touting as an option for the GTD this week. The options are nearly endless, as Ford says the Extended Color Palette consists of thousands of colors (there are just six standard paints) for you to choose from. And here’s what you thought PorscheThe Paint-To-Sample (PTS) catalog was deep. To be fair to Porsche, the special request program is still unmatched when it comes to in-depth personalization of every part of the car.
How to choose the color is quite simple. Those who lucky enough to buy one an example of their desired color to share with the Mustang GTD Concierge team. From there, the team will do their best to match that color from a catalog of tints and shades. Considering the “thousands” of colors in this catalog, we have a feeling Ford can match anything you want.
But of course, you can take it one step further. Ford offers an “Exclusive Extended Color Palette Lock-Out Option” that ensures that your GTD will be the only one ever painted in the color of your choice. It seems highly unlikely that someone with the same color as you will end up with thousands of shades to choose from, but Ford offers a way to ensure that your GTD is truly one-of-a-kind when it comes to paint.
Pricing for these highly exclusive paint options hasn’t been announced, but you can expect them to be an exorbitant addition to the Extended Color Palette and an even more ridiculous addition to the lockout option. All of this is on top of a base price that Ford says will start around $300,000.
