Travis Pastrana said he would be aggressive on his final climb up the ramp of the Duke of Richmond at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.There is no denying that.
A few hours after he told a handful of journalists, the extraordinary racer and stunt driver appeared to have too much speed in the corner known as Molecomb, understeered and the so-called Subaru Huckster in the hay bales along the track. Although there were a number of incidents in the last “Sunday Shootout” (many more than normal), this was the only incident that occurred at that notoriously difficult spot.
Fellow Subaru driver Scott Speed appeared to have some trouble just before that corner while driving the epic Subaru WRX: Project Midnight car, which may have resulted in him being slower than his previous run the day before, and about three seconds slower than the eventual Shootout winning ford Supervan driven by Romain Dumas.
