Unlike virtually every phone on the market, the back of the CMF Phone 1 is held in place by four flat screws and a larger knob that Nothing calls the Accessory Point. Once all the screws are removed, the plastic back can be pried off with a pry tool, which
The battery is hidden under a thin protective layer that easily peels off. Removing the plastic layer will also void your warranty, so it is not recommended.
The host then removed 12 Phillips screws which also have tamper stickers to show if you’ve tampered with the device and another way to void your warranty. The top half of the plastic back houses the camera lens covers and antennas
The next component is the motherboard which houses the front and rear cameras, chipset, RAM, storage, and sensors. Even then, the battery is still not easily removable due to a hidden screw under the accessory point.
Once the screw is removed, you can pull the battery out using the pull tabs.
Despite its “modular design,” the CMF Phone 1 earns a 6.5/10 repairability score, with battery removal being more complicated due to a hidden screw beneath the Accessory Point mount. The plastic covers over the motherboard and speaker assembly are also more difficult to remove than on other phones.
