It’s almost here: Apple is supposed to unveil the next generation of iPhones in a month. Older models are already discounted in anticipation, let’s take a look.

All iPhone 15 models are now discounted by £100 . The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are the only ones (so far) to support Apple Intelligence, which is currently in beta. They also have 120Hz displays and telephoto lenses (77mm on the Pro, 120mm on the Pro Max), things the vanilla iPhone 16 and 16 Plus won’t have.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have 48MP main cameras, which offer in-sensor zoom. It doesn’t have the range of optical zoom, but it’s a lot better than what previous vanilla models offered. They also have Dynamic Island-style displays in place of the old-school notch of the 14-series. That and a USB-C connector. However, they don’t have the chipset and RAM necessary to run Apple Intelligence.

Of course, if you’re buying an old iPhone, you can go older. The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are still around with their notched displays, 12MP main cameras and Lightning ports. Right now the 14 Plus (128GB) is £200 cheaper, making it the same price as the iPhone 14.

Keep in mind that these discounts are relative to the already reduced prices of the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. These two originally cost £850 and £950 when they first launched in 2022.

Next up are some of Samsung’s Android tablets. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ use IPS LCDs, measuring 10.9” and 12.4” respectively, running at 90Hz. Both tablets are powered by the Exynos 1380 and are dust and water resistant (IP68). Both support DeX, but without wired or wireless video output.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ is the budget option. It has an 11” LCD (also 90Hz) and runs on the older Snapdragon 695 chipset. It has quad speakers and expandable storage, so it’s a solid entertainment machine. Note that the 128GB version has double the RAM (8GB).

Finally, Samsung’s affordable Galaxy Watch FE has an aluminium frame, while the Apple Watch SE reportedly switches to plastic. This model is only available in 40mm (1.2-inch display) and uses the previous Exynos W920 (5nm) chipset. Note: Amazon Prime Student subscribers get an additional £15 off the price.
