Motorola’s new Razr 50 pair launches on Monday, July 8. That means they’re technically still up for pre-order, but they’ve already received their price cut. It’s only £40 off the Razr 50 Ultra and £20 for the vanilla Razr 50, but it’s a start.

Samsung will hold its big Unpacked event on July 10 (Wednesday), starring the Galaxy Z Flip6 (and others). Last year, the Z Flip5 kicked off at €1,050 for the 8/256GB model.

Amazon continues to clear out old OnePlus stock, meaning older devices are getting huge discounts. And we do mean old – the OnePlus Nord 2 is from 2021. Still, with a Dimensity 1200 chipset and a 4500mAh battery with 65W fast charging for a price of £160, this is an interesting alternative to cheaper mid-rangers.

Keep in mind that the Nord 2 got Android 13 as its last update, so it’s already outdated. Not a problem if you plan on running custom ROMs, but we have a better pick for a slightly higher price.

The OnePlus Nord 2T is from 2022 and got Android 14. Sadly that would be the last update, but security patches will continue into next year. It is £30 more expensive than the Nord 2.

The Xiaomi 12T is also coming out in 2022. However, Xiaomi has put it on a better update path and gets a total of 3 OS updates (not just 2 like the Nord), so it currently runs Android 14, with 15 being the final update. Security patches will remain valid until the end of 2026. The 12T is more expensive than the Nords, but runs the more recent Dimensity 8100 chipset and has a 108MP main camera, plus a larger, faster 5000mAh battery with 120W charging.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 is a small, budget tablet. Its 8.7-inch display has a resolution of just 1340 x 800px, so it’s not the best for streaming, but its Helio G99 chipset can handle light gaming. Interestingly, the 128GB version has 8GB of RAM, double that of the 64GB model. That might be worth the £40 upgrade, but the microSD slot means you don’t need to feel pressured to shell out the extra storage just yet.

If you have a ROG phone (or laptop), you can pair it with the Asus ROG Cetra true wireless buds. These are gaming buds, of course, so you can activate a low-latency gaming mode with a tap or via the Armoury Crate. These are also solid all-purpose TWS buds, with active noise cancellation, IPX4 water resistance, and up to 27 hours of total battery life. The case can be charged via USB-C or wirelessly.
