Right now, the Galaxy S24 trio is $220 cheaper, and that includes the different memory options each model has. Let’s take a closer look.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra features Samsung’s best camera and native S Pen support. It comes with a number of AI features, with more on the way with new versions of One UI.
The Samsung Galaxy S24+ doesn’t have the Ultra’s camera, but it does finally get a QHD+ display and 12GB of RAM, setting it apart from the smaller S24. Both of the larger models also have UWB support, meaning they’ll work better with smart trackers.
The diminutive Samsung Galaxy S24 is the cheapest of the bunch, meaning it still starts at 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. We’d go with 256GB, considering Samsung will support these phones for 7 years and 128GB is going to be pretty tight in 2031.
After oh-so-many leaks, Google is finally launching the Pixel 9 series, meaning it’s retiring most of the 8 series. Except for the Google Pixel 8a, which isn’t getting replaced any time soon. It has a 6.1” 120Hz FHD+ OLED display (GG3), a Tensor G3, and (like the more expensive Galaxies) it’s supported for 7 years.
The Samsung Galaxy A35 only gets 4 OS updates and 5 years of security patches – not as good as the Pixel, but a lot better than your typical mid-ranger. It has a larger 6.6-inch display, but uses the slower Exynos 1380 chipset. On the plus side, it has expandable storage. Its 5,000mAh battery lasts longer than the Pixel 8a (12:26 hours versus 11:25 hours of active use score), and only supports wired charging (at 25W). The 8a is no speed demon, but offers both wired (18W) and wireless (7.5W) charging.
