Just over two weeks ago, Huawei announced are Mate X6 foldable in China and is now making its way to global markets. It comes as a direct successor to last year’s China exclusive version Mate X5 with a handful of improvements, including better cameras and a bigger battery.
Huawei will offer its latest foldable phone in Nebula Gray, Nebula Red and Black colors. The device measures just 4.6mm when unfolded and 9.9mm when folded again. The phone also has an IPX8 water resistance rating.

The rear houses a 50MP main camera with an RYYB sensor and with f/1.4-f/4.0 variable aperture alongside a 48MP periscope telephoto with 4X optical zoom and a 5cm super macro mode. The third shooter is a 40 MP ultrawide with autofocus. Huawei has also added an Ultra Chroma Camera, which captures 1.5 million spectral channels for richer and more lifelike colors in your photos.
The chipset situation is a bit complicated for geopolitical reasons, but the latest reports point to an internal chipset Kirin 9020 That’s the same chip found in the Mate 70 series telephones.
It would have a 12-core CPU with 2x prime cores up to 2.5GHz, 6x middle cores up to 2.1GHz and 4x efficiency cores up to 1.6GHz. Some, but not all, of these CPU cores have hyperthreading. The GPU side is covered by the Maleoon 920 clocked at 840 MHz. Again, Huawei hasn’t confirmed any of these specs, so take them with a few grains of salt.
The software front is covered by EMUI 15, while the silicon-carbon battery has a capacity of 5,110 mAh and supports 66W wired, 50W wireless and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.
Prices in UAE for the 12/512GB trim is set to €7,199that comes true $1,960. Deliveries there are scheduled for January 6. We expect more information about availability soon.
