Crisis averted – it turns out that the Pixel 9 Pro And Pixel 9 Pro XL Units sold in USA, Malaysia and Singapore do indeed have LTPO panels, the same Super Actua panels the rest of the world gets. Google has updated the specifications listed on the support page that was causing this confusion.

There’s more good news: all Pixel 9 phones support Wi-Fi 7 in all regions. This includes the vanilla Pixel9 and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Google has fixed the error in the spec sheets and added a note that operation in the 6GHz band is only available in regions where local regulations allow it. In USA, for example, 6GHz Wi-Fi isn’t officially approved, but that doesn’t stop Wi-Fi 7 from working on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
