For a company that supposedly “moved on” from the smartphone businessMeizu is definitely launching a lot of smartphones these days. Earlier today we told you about the new Note 21 series, which even go internationaland the company has also given a sneak peek at another new device, which is apparently part of a new series.

The Meizu Lucky 08 smartphone is being advertised by the company as a “flagship AI phone” that will arrive on September 25. It costs CNY 2,000, which is roughly $280 or €255 now – so it can’t possibly be a true flagship at that price.

It does look intriguing though, as you can see in the teaser video above. There appear to be two cameras on the back, housed in a very distinctive circular camera island.

Meizu has launched a CNY 1 reservation service. If you pay that measly amount, you will reserve your place in the queue for the phone when it comes out, and you will also get the chance to drive the Meizu x Lynk & Co Z10 E-sports Customized Edition EV, plus exclusive subsidies for trade-in.

No further details are known about Lucky 08 at this time, but keep in mind that 8 is the most lucky number in Chinese culture, so the name is fitting.
