Today, a panel of the Republican National Committee approved a draft of the party’s 2024 platform that strongly supports Bitcoin.
On page nine of the draft, it explicitly states: “We will defend the right to mine Bitcoin and ensure that every American has the right to control and transact their digital assets without government oversight or control.”

Additionally, it promises to end what it calls the Democrats’ “illegitimate and un-American crypto crackdown” and opposes the creation of a central bank digital currency (CBDC). According to The hillthe Platform Committee approved the new draft by an overwhelming majority and a final vote will be held on Tuesday.
With this decision, the Republican Party shows a clear position in favor of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency innovation, thereby setting itself apart from the current unwelcome attitude of the Biden administration and the Democrats.
The design reflects the growing interest and advocacy for protecting and supporting Bitcoin within the party, and aligns with broader trends of Bitcoin adoption and support among several Republican politicians. In May, Donald Trump said he “will ensure that the future of crypto and Bitcoin is made in the US.”
