The Samsung Galaxy A15 5G was launched in December and the Korean company is now already testing its successor, the Galaxy A16 5G, which was only spotted today on Geekbench’s online database of results with model number SM-A166P.

The Galaxy A16 5G is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 SoC (as opposed to the Dimensity 6100+ in the A15 5G). The prototype we tested had 6GB of RAM, but other memory options could be available.

It was no surprise that the phone was running Android 14, and that’s all the details revealed by this benchmark. Previous UK certifications revealed that Samsung is also working on a 4G version of the A16, so as with the A15 we get two separate devices, each with its own connectivity. So the chipset of the A16 4G will probably be different (the A15 4G has the Helio G99).

While other specs of the A16 haven’t been released yet, you should know that the A15 5G sports a 6.5-inch 1080×2340 90Hz AMOLED touchscreen, 128/256GB of storage, 4/6/8GB of RAM, a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, a 13MP selfie camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. Hopefully its successor will upgrade some of these.
