There has been a lot of back and forth in recent months regarding the chipset(s) that will power the upcoming Samsung smartphones. Galaxy S25 familywhich is likely to be launched in January. We first heard that it would be an Exynos-only affair, then two individual reports told us to expect Snapdragon everywhere.

Now another rumor, originating from Samsung’s home country of Korea, confirms Snapdragon’s victory. The Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra will reportedly all use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 globally. This is apparently done to maximize the “performance” of the S25 series.

The Exynos 2500 will instead power the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, launching in the second half of next year. It’s an interesting twist, considering the foldable phones have relied on Snapdragon chips so far. Until they launch, Samsung has time to improve the 2500’s yield and stabilize its performance, the report says.
