The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Slim will be equipped with a cover display with the same aspect ratio as the Galaxy S24 Ultra‘s screen – 19.5:9. This information comes from China, thanks to prolific leaker Ice Universe.
While the aspect ratio will be the same, the new Fold’s outer display will be smaller than that of the S24 Ultra, measuring 6.5″. Inside, an 8-inch foldable display will do the job. Both panels are larger than those in the Galaxy Z Fold6which Samsung announced earlier this month.
The Galaxy Z Fold Slim is the device that was previously rumored to be called the Galaxy Z Fold Ultra. It will reportedly feature a titanium frame and will be thinner and lighter than the Fold6, making it a premium, yet more expensive foldable smartphone from the Korean company.
It’s expected to be released in Q4, so between October and December, but it’s unclear where it will launch. Some rumors have suggested it will only be available in Korea and China, but Ice Universe says the Slim shouldn’t be confused with the Samsung W25, a foldable specifically for the Chinese market. More details should leak out as time goes on, so stay tuned.
