A report last month suggested that Sony may… Phase out its Xperia V series, leaving the Xperia 1 as the Japanese maker’s only high-end smartphone line. A new case listing for what appears to be the Xperia 5 VI suggests otherwise.
Xperia 5 VI Spigen Rugged Armor Case
A German online retailer has launched a Spigen Rugged Armor case for the Xperia 5 VI. The accompanying images show the case on the device with some subtle differences compared to the same case on last year’s Xperia 5 V.

One notable difference is that the Xperia 5 VI’s LED flash, which is placed between the cameras, is larger than that of the outgoing Xperia 5 V. The renders also reveal a headphone jack at the top, a fingerprint scanner on the side and a volume rocker on the right side – but no shutter button. The display sizes and aspect ratios appear to be the same.
Last year’s Xperia 5V was released in September, giving Sony plenty of time to tease the upcoming Xperia 5 VI.
