In addition to official information from Clever trick on what buyers could expect from the battery-electric 2024 Charger DaytonaThere’s quite a bit of leaked info that we’ve filed under Rumormill. That includes specs for First Edition models from early dealer guides That Mopar Insider saw, a note about a 90-day delay from a supposed April order book opening date, as well as possible prices derived from a photo of a Stellantis computer. Dodge has come out with real pricing, and it looks like the goalposts haven’t moved much. Let’s get the important stuff out of the way first, the MSRPs. The 2024 Charger Daytona R/T will start at $59,995 before a $1,995 destination charge, which comes to $61,990 before options. That’s $8,575 under the rumors price we posted two days ago. But more on that discrepancy later.
Dodge reports that the 2024 Charger Daytona Scat Pack will have a starting price of $75,185, which is $8,980 lower than the rumored amount a few days ago.
Delving deeper into the specifications, the official standard equipment also differs from what was previously trader guides reportedly showed. According to those guides and the MSRP screenshot, we were expecting an R/T trim with the $4,995 Plus Group, $1,095 Blacktop Package, and $2,495 Sun & Sound Group at launch. The sum of those option prices is $8,585 — right around the expected gap between official pricing and the MSRPs from the Stellantis computer graphic.
What’s interesting is that Dodge has never once mentioned the phrase “First Edition” in connection with its new muscle car; the closest the automaker comes is to reference “Inaugural year” when talking about what’s included in the 2024 Scat Pack MSRP. That computer screenshot calls the three-option R/T bundle the Customer Preferred Package. What we’re saying is that we don’t know if Dodge had the makings of a big first-year splash at a higher price but decided to back off, or if we were projecting our idea of the familiar First Edition manual onto the Charger launch. Either way, the makings of a First Edition are there.
Now that we’re on the subject, let’s clarify the Plus Group. It offers different options depending on the version, for the same price. For both versions, the Plus Group adds the following:
- 360-degree surround view camera
- Attitude Adjustment Lighting
- Exterior mirrors with Dodge logo puddle lamp
- frunk-like
- Premium IP and door cladding panels
- Premium LED headlights
- Electric hatch
- Wireless charging pad
That’s right, you have no front storage space until you pay the $4,995 fine.
On the R/T this group also offers:
- 16 inch colour driver display
- 20×9 inch aluminum rims
- Luxury security alarm
- Head-up display
- Faux leather low bucket seats with ventilation
The 16-inch driver display, alarm and HUD are standard equipment on the Scat Pack. The only other change on the higher trim level is ventilated leather high-back bucket seats instead of the R/T’s low-back leather seats. Dodge said the Plus Group also comes with “A lot more extra content,” without specifying.
If you like the Demonic Red chairs, they’re an additional $495 more expensive after paying for the Plus Group chair.
Dodge is giving up the Scat Pack’s exclusive options: the $2,995 Carbon & Suede Package and $695 Goodyear Eagle 3-Season Tires formula 1 Supercar 3 rubber. We, and quite a few other outlets, thought the Goodyear tires were part of the Track Pack, but they’re not — all-season tires are the standard. The good rubber will cost more, and in 2025 the Track Package will too.
Housekeeping: Both muscle cars qualify for the $7,500 federal tax deduction when rented. Both come with a Level 2 home charging station or $600 charging credit through Stellantis’ Free2move Charge network. Production of the two-door battery-electric models starts this summer, meaning that in the next 45 days or so; the four-door versions with main lines downwards sometime in the first six months of 2025. The gas-powered versions that run on the Hurricane inline-six won’t go into production until the second half of 2025.
