Dogecoin Day festivities begin – here’s the scoop
DOGE Day 2024 is finally here and the Dogecoin community is celebrating this famous event in several ways. This year, DOGE Day will be marked with lots of fun themed activities, including a tribute to the beloved mascot, Kabosua Shiba Inu dog whose image inspired one of the most famous memes on the internet.
The 2024 edition of DOGE Day will feature a full program of events, including a Halloween-themed party in Tokyo on October 31, followed by a tour and VIP cruise dinner around Tokyo Bay on November 1. The main DOGE Day event will take place on the annual holiday, November 2, at Sakura Furusato Square Park.
Here, members of the Dogecoin community can enjoy food, crafts and live entertainment, in addition to speeches from prominent Dogecoin figures such as Atsuko Sato, the owner of Kabosuthe local mayor and other officials.
The Dogecoin team also revealed that the main highlight of DOGE Day 2024 will be an attempt to set a Guinness world record for the “most dogs brushing their teeth at the same time.” This planned Doge activity highlights the playful and community-oriented side of the Dogecoin meme coin.
Origin of International DOGE Day
Interestingly enough, there are two infamous DOGE days. The first, scheduled annually on April 20 focuses on bringing Dogecoin enthusiasts from around the world to honor the 420 meme coin and celebrate its cultural impact on the broader crypto market.
The second DOGE Day, on the other hand, commemorates Dogecoin’s independence and marks the launch anniversary of the dog-themed meme coin in 2013, when it was created by software engineers. Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer.
Even though it started as a funny joke that stood out Bitcoin (BTC)Dogecoin has grown over the years and solidified its position as the number one meme coin with the largest market cap and the most popularity.
