WhatsApp introduced the Events function for communities in May and it started rolling for group chats for beta users on Android in June. Later, WhatsApp started testing Community Announcement group events on its beta Android app, and now it is working on a feature called Community group chat event duration.
This revelation comes from WABetaInfowho said that WhatsApp has started testing the group chat event duration feature in WhatsApp beta 2.24.17.11 for Android.
This feature allows members of a community group to create events with specific start and end times, while also adding a location and a WhatsApp chat link.
This feature should come in handy in communities where multiple events need to be planned. It’s unclear when WhatsApp will roll it out to all users globally, but if you’re an Android user and can’t wait for the public rollout, you can sign up for the beta program to try it out.
